Walk the area

May 1st is Labour Day and a day off here in Germany. So I did a little walk through my neighbourhood (or “Veedel”, as it is called here in Cologne) to see what has changed.

……………………………………………………….. a decorated birch tree in front of a house

It is a tradition that young people put decorated birchtrees in front of their loved onesβ€˜ houses - this one is a small one.

……………………………………………………….. A writing on a wall with coloured chalk saying Make Love

“Macht Liebe” (=“make love”) is an evergreen but still okay to be reminded on.

………………………………………………………..

A quite ugly decorated shop front of a beauty salon

Never judge a book - but maybe a beauty parlour by its cover?

………………………………………………………..

a little white bedside lamp on the pavement

The little β€žstreet lightβ€œ - a sign of hope? That there will be always a light?

………………………………………………………..

A colourful stencil art

And a nice stencil art I haven’t seen before because I usually walk on the other side of the street.

………………………………………………………..

I do this walk almost every weekend, always the same route with very little variation. And every time it amazes me that I still discover new things.
